Creating and adding Parent Child type Product in SAP CPQ

Parent/Child System (List) of Configurable Products:

Parent/Child System (List) of Configurable Products behaves like a Configurable Product in that it requires attributes to be selected in order to be added to a quote. Inclusion, exclusion, or bundling rules can be enforced between the attributes. This product display type is used when setting up product nesting or hierarchical product structure. 

Creation of Parent/Child System (List) of Configurable Product by using Container Product: 

1. Firstly create one product with display type Parent/Child System of Configurable type. It will act as main item. 

   

2. Next Create another product, this product. For this product, you can give display type as configurable or Parent / Child system. It will act as child item. 

   

3. In this child product, go to attributes tab and add the attributes you want. If Is Line Item is enabled, then that attribute will act as line item in the quote.

   

4. After creating two products create container Attribute, here we have to select type as Selected products (select below).  

   

5. If you select Selected Products (select below), It is mandatory to select at least one product. To select a product, Click on Select Product button then a new page will pop-up by showing list of products that are available in the system. Click on select to add. You can add more than one product. 

   

6. In columns tab, define the column details.

   

   

7. After creating container add this container in the previously created parent / child product. 

   

Adding Parent/Child System of Configurable type Product into the Quote:

1. Go to catalog and your respective product

   

2. Click on Configure button, it will take you to the configuration page. Click on Add button to add a row into the container and fill the row with the respected information you want. Here each row will act like a child product. 

   

3. In the actions column click on Edit, it will take you to the configuration page of child product. 

   

4. Select options of attributes you want. Click on save, then it will redirect to parent product. 

5. In that parent product click on Add to Quote button. The product will get added into the quote.
